Program Details
Our specialized services are available for pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women. The program supports recovery, life skills, parenting, and alternatives to incarceration and is certified by the State of California as a Medi-Cal Drug Program.

Ability to pay is not a consideration for admission. Fees for services will be charged depending on financial ability to pay according to the Fee Determination form (UMDAP) and Fee Agreement Form.

Services
Behavioral Health
Psychological screenings and assessments will be conducted by a licensed therapist who will develop a psychological history, consisting of identifying chemical dependency, psychiatric and neuropsychological problems, and evaluating the client’s individual mental health needs and employment and drug history. Other information on family functioning, cultural/ethnic factors, peer influence, defiant behavior, anti-social attitudes, mental and emotional distress, and school adjustment problems is also gathered.
Counseling Services
The counseling program includes both individual and group counseling sessions. Individual counseling sessions are provided based on treatment plan, developed by both case manager and client.
Parent Co-op-Child Care
Child care is provided to clients with children 0-5 years. Child care is conducted as a parent Co-op, where staff, in conjunction with the clients, provides the services. The parent co-op is an opportunity for clients to further develop and display parenting skills learned.
Medical Services
All clients will receive a medical needs assessment and will be referred to El Proyecto’s Family Health Care Clinics for primary health care within the first thirty (30) days of enrollment.
Referral
El Proyecto provides internal referrals to health services, employment and training, HIV/AIDS educational counseling, vocational and employment training, legal aid and other community resources so as to meet the client’s needs.
Urinalysis Testing
All clients are required to submit to random urinalysis testing for the duration of their treatment.
Additional Details
Child, Elder, & Incapacitated Abuse Reporting – The program is required to report suspected child, elder, and incapacitated abuse and neglect. Suspected abuse is reported to the appropriate agency or agencies, with or without the client’s consent.
Readmission – Clients may be readmitted to El Proyecto’s Prenatal Program after a 30-day waiting period. During this time, clients must attend 12-step support meetings as recommended by their case manager to demonstrate commitment to recovery. Failure to provide proof of attendance at intake may result in denial of admission.
